Asking YOU a Question Blog Hop - Help! Teacher Gift Ideas

If I hadn't been dealing with cute little sickos for a week and if I wasn't so tired, I probably could have come up with a truly profound question. However, I really would love some ideas/help in this area:

What are you giving/have you given for teacher gifts (christmas, end of the year)? I especially need some help with PE Coach gifts!

Thank You Very Much!

The Daily Dribbles

It is time for my weekly therapy session. If you need to get some aggravations off your chest, head on over to The Daily Dribbles. Try it, you'll like it!

To the flu shot, Thank You Very Much for doing such a good job at protecting us from the flu. Lily and I are both sick today with symptoms that YOU are supposed to prevent. I guess I can look forward to the entire family NOT being protected by you!

To the flu, Thank You Very Much for making me feel like crap. It is so sweet of you to make me sick while my kiddos are sick so I have to take care of said sickos while feeling sick (how many times can you use the word "sick" in a sentence?). Thank You So Much, FLU, for keeping me up all night, so instead of having an elaborate and witty Thank You Very Much Post, I have to go take a nap instead!

Thank you Kmama for allowing me to yell at my imaginary friends. I do feel better having given them a piece of my mind (what's left)!

Recycled Wednesday

I am feeling a bit under the weather today, so I am going to re-publish a post from last year. Back then, only family members were reading my blog. This is one of my favorites!

A Musical at the Oswald Theater
The other day the kids put on a play for me. It was called "Thunder Mountain"

Lily was a princess who lived on top of the mountain and she was waiting for a prince to come and marry her.
Ashton and Bailey were cowboys "Smith" and "Big"
They had horses and little pistols.
The first musical number was Smith and Big singing about how they were going to marry the princess:

"I'm going to marry the princess" sang Smith

"No, I'm going to marry the princess" sang Big

"No I am"

"No I am"

"No I am"

"No I am"

Lily had music from her piano playing and she would whisper the words to the boys before they sang.

Then both the cowboys raced up the mountain to ask the princess to marry them.

Next the princess sang about how she couldn't marry the cowboys because she wanted to marry a prince. And she was sorry but she wasn't that "in" to horses. Lots of singing "I'm sorry!" over and over! Eyes closed, arms outstretched.
The same music as the cowboys' song played on the piano, just different words.

And that was the end. I really had to contain my laughter! They did a great job with very little rehearsals. Oh, my silly kids!

This is just a silly picture, not from the performance.

Normal Days

Most days, I am able to enjoy or atleast find the comedy in all the good/bad moments of our lives. But some days all I can think about is "how much longer until bedtime!"

Some days Lily won't go to sleep unless DaddyO or I are sitting at the computer right outside her bedroom and most nights ends up sleeping on the floor in our room.

Some days Ashton shrieks in pain if someone barely brushes their hand next to his body.

Some days Bailey sneaks in to the pantry and we find his half eaten, moldy snacks behind the couch.

Some days Daisy wakes up 4 times per night to eat.

Some days Lily plays school or tag or barbie's or pirates for hours with her brothers OR plays with Daisy while I make dinner.

Some days Ashton says "this is the best day ever" because you are taking him to swim at Grandma's ALL BY HIMSELF.
He actually fell asleep like this!

Some days when everyone is fighting over who gets to sit next to me at the table, Bailey volunteers to give up his seat or when everyone wants to hold my hand, Bailey happily skips up to hold his dad's hand.
wearing his skeleton gloves to bed

Some days Daisy lays her head on my shoulder and just lets me rock her.

I saw the following quote on Ali Edward's blog a few weeks ago. I think I am going to frame it and hang it in a very visible part of the house, so I can get a slap in the face always be reminded to truly appreciate every ordinary day!

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. - Mary Jean Iron
