Ten Things To Smile About: March

1. Daisy's first hair cut. I was a bit concerned and thought she would insist on sitting on my lap. Then who would take pictures? I was wrong and she handled it beautifully!

2. Daisy and I were sitting at the table having lunch when all of a sudden she smacked me on the arm! I was about to get mad when she yelled out "Slug Bug!!!"

3. We finalized plans for a vacation. Out of state! I will let you know all about it when we get back. I am just a tad bit excited!

4. Lily likes to watch The Nanny.

5. Even with all of the sickness we had from Jan-March, and the many days my boys missed school (6 I think), they BOTH received Academic Excellence awards for the 3rd quarter. ALL A's! And wasn't it thoughtful that they stood together while accepting their awards? :)

6. Survivor. I am soooooooooooo glad they got rid of Russel early!

7. A trip to the zoo.

8. The giraffes. We didn't want the kids anywhere near those slimy tongues have any change, but Bailey was picking up pieces of food that other people had dropped on the ground and feeding the giraffes any way.

9. Dining next to the shark tank!

10. A trip to the park. Beautiful day! Perfect temps! The park all to ourselves! The last day of Spring Break.

Ten Things to Smile About - November

It has been another very smiley month! See!

1. After eating every bite of his dinner, Ashton asked if he could still come over for dinner when he is a grown-up.

2. Daisy likes to sit on my lap, while sucking her thumb and holding on to my hair, and watch FoodNetwork shows with me.

3. Lily is taking a cooking class at school and she made us rice krispie treats all by herself.

4. Bailey has PERFECT grades this quarter, perfect attendance and he made his AR Reading Goal with very little help from me!

5. Fun, Family and Food for a Fabulous Thanksgiving!!

6. Yearly tradition of cleaning out the pantry. Taking EVERYTHING out, scrubbing the shelves and floor, getting rid of outdated food and putting everything back nicely organized. We actually have skipped this tradition since we started it about 4 years ago and DaddyO re-organized the shelves a few months ago so all we really had to do was get everything off the floor and mop. LOL

7. Christmas Music! Christmas Movies! (please note that these came after Thanksgiving) ;)

8. Decorating the tree!

9. I am almost done Christmas Shopping! Now I can just sit back and enjoy the season. Hahahahahaha!

10. I am giving away a 'Merry Christmas' banner! If you haven't been visiting Shana's Holiday Gift Guide, there is still time to enter a few of the giveaways, including mine. Run to Blaze'n'Chrochet!

10 Things to Smile About - October

Holy Cow! I've been trying to post this all day! I wanted to add a few pictures but both of my camera cards were having major issues and I couldn't download any pics! I did come up with a solution which you will read about below!

Here are 10 things that I was smiling about in October:

1. In the first 5 days of Oct we had 3 days with rain. And below 100degree temps! yippeeeeee!=)

2. Having the kids home for Fall Break.=)

3.With the cooler weather comes actual cold water coming out of the taps. I love having 3 different water temperatures to do my laundry in, instead of hot, hotter and hottest! Also, brushing teeth with warm water is blicky!=)

4. During Fall Break, Daisy realized that she could make Bailey do whatever she wanted! All I heard all day was "Bah Bah! Bah Bah! Bah Bah" Then I would find the two of them sitting on the couch eating otter pops or playing together in the sandbox or playing pladoh on the back patio or sprinkling fairy dust (sugar) all over the pantry!=)

5. After complaing about the photo contest I entered, I was able to get 2 of my pictures in the top ten finalists. I used 5 emails to vote for my pictures 5 times PER DAY with word verification for EVERY vote. I was determined! I only received votes from myself. If you are interested, you can check out my photos and my competition here. =)

6. A trip to the pumpkin festival. =)

7. Sending the kids back to school after Fall Break. =)

8. The boys really wanted to submit a pumpkin for the contest at school. I had no idea what to do! Carving is not allowed. Then, last week, I met a new bloggy friend and can you believe she had posted pics of some fabulous pumpkins she had decorated. She even said I could copy her idea! I put together the pumpkin last night and delivered it to the school this morning. Thanks Janet! Go check out her pumpkin here. =)

9. I finally took pictures of Daisy in her cute birthday outfit. It's only been 2 months since her birthday! =)

10. Finally figuring out how to get the pictures off of my camera's memory card. It was rocket science actually. I used the cable to attach the camera to the computer's usb port! Genius!! =)

Ten Things

Ten Things that made me smile in September
______________

1. Daisy got cute skeleton pj's and wore this hat everywhere for 2 days straight. Even to bed!

2. Some new Fall decorations.

3. Lily and I share a toothbrush base. After she finishes brushing her teeth every night, she attaches my toothbrush head and lays out the toothpaste for me.
4. Pumpkin Spice Lotion and Hand Soap

5. The 2nd grade put on an Independence Day themed program at school. Ashton and Bailey both had speaking parts and they both remembered their lines and spoke loudly and clearly so we could hear and understand them. Bailey did pronounce Philadelphia "Philadelthia," but that just made me smile even more!

6. Lily was the first student in her class to get the Student of the Month Award. For my extremely quiet and shy girl this is HUGE. A teacher who is able to recognize her personality and treat her in a way that is not intimidating and allowing her to feel comfortable participating in class or asking her teacher for help. Her grades are amazing this quarter with very little help from us!!
7. For the first time since my kids started school, they ALL had perfect attendance this quarter. Usually everyone gets sick a couple of weeks after school starts and inevitably have to stay home due to fevers.

8. 3 more days of school and the kiddos are on Fall Break for 2 weeks. I CAN NOT believe how fast this quarter has gone by! I can still remember the sadness of sending them back to school and am looking forward to everyone being home again!

9. More of this:

10. Survivor

Ten Things To Smile About - August

It's that time of the month again! Time for Ten Things I enjoyed Smiling About in August!

1. We finally had some decent monsoon storms!

2. The boys invited 6 friends to their birthday party and ALL 6 showed up!
    Bonus: All but 1 RSVPed!

3. Watching the boys play with their new legos! We may have waited a bit too long to let them have the tiny legos. And, YES, we find them ALL OVER the house!

4. The last 5 days we have had tempertures BELOW 100 degrees. Unheard of in August! Yesterday it was 98degrees with absolutely no humidity! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

5. Because of the cooler temps, we took our first walk/bike ride in MONTHS! The kids were so happy!

6. I got to spend a half-day with Lily during Shadow a Student day at her school.

7. One of the balloons from Daisy's party floated in to the front room and got stuck in the ceiling fan. I smiled once wondering how we would ever get it down from the 20 foot ceiling. I smiled a second time when DaddyO attached a pin to a dart and shot at the ballon with the boys' nerf gun in order to pop the balloon and stop the horrible sounds it was making from being spun around in the fan! (It is still dangling from the fan and I promise to post pics of Daisy's Bday soon!)
8. & 9. This one deserves 2 smiles because we were LOBO! We were over at my Mom's swimming and Daisy decided she was done with the pool. My Mom took her and was going to get her dressed. She started to pull off her swim diaper only to realize that Daisy had left a messy surprise inside. My Mom wasn't exactly sure how to handle the situation. I told her she could rip the sides of the diaper but because Daisy was standing up, when she tore the sides a hunk-a-poo fell on the patio. The kids and I were all still in the pool, watching and LAUGHING! After Grandma got Daisy hosed off and handed to Grandpa, she grabbed the piece-a-poo and threw it in to the swim diaper so she could throw the entire thing away. This is when the real laughter began. Through his laughter, Ashton said "I've never seen an old lady pick up poo before!"

10. And one final smile thinking that next month I will be smiling about watching Survivor!!

Ten Things To Smile About - July

I CAN NOT believe that another month has gone by! We had a great July and here are some of the highlights!

1. Watching fireworks through our bedroom window.

2. Putting Daisy down for her nap and saying to her "It's time to go Ni-night."
And then Miss Sassy Pants pointed her finger at me and said, "NO, Mom!"

3. Ashton lost his first tooth!

4. Ashton telling us at dinner that he is not a big fan of the chicken in the lasagna that was made with ground beef.

5. Ashton losing his 2nd tooth with the help of his big sister because their parents are too chicken!

6. Bailey using an eyeglass case as a wallet to hold his money from the tooth fairy. He lost his 4th tooth this month! Lily added his name with cute pink stickers.

7. Lily wanting to set the record for Most Consecutive Nights of Sleepovers with her BFF. They conned 4 parents in to letting them have sleepovers 3 nights in a row.

8. The boys getting so good at swimming after 4 weeks of swim lessons. I bought water wings at the beginning of summer and never even opened the package!

9. Staycation!

10. I may have 1/2 of a smile because my kids went back to school today. Just thinking about nap times where rambunctious kiddos wake up sleeping babies. The house is very silent today!!

Ten Things To Smile About - June

Once a month, Emmy lists 10 things that made her smile for that month and allows us to join in. Great idea!

We have had a great June with many things to smile about! I had to shrink them down to 10! ;)

1. I found really really cheap swim lessons for the boys!
2. Even though we were on the wait-list for swim class, both boys made it in to the class AND time I wanted.
3. WIPE OUT! 'nuff said!
4. Pool parties! And Grandma makes Deeee-licious food!
5. I showed Daisy how to give 'butterfly kisses' and now she gives them to me all the time!
6. We all adjusted to being together 24/7 and there has been A LOT less fighting!
7. Dressing Daisy in all her cute summer clothes. Most of them, hand-me-downs, from a friend who likes to shop at     Gymboree and who's daughter is 4 months older than Daisy.
8. Sleeping in 30 minutes longer than I do when the kids are in school!
9. Remembering to remember 10 things that made me smile in June.
10. Setting the date for our Staycation!
