Ten Things to Smile About - November

It has been another very smiley month! See!

1. After eating every bite of his dinner, Ashton asked if he could still come over for dinner when he is a grown-up.

2. Daisy likes to sit on my lap, while sucking her thumb and holding on to my hair, and watch FoodNetwork shows with me.

3. Lily is taking a cooking class at school and she made us rice krispie treats all by herself.

4. Bailey has PERFECT grades this quarter, perfect attendance and he made his AR Reading Goal with very little help from me!

5. Fun, Family and Food for a Fabulous Thanksgiving!!

6. Yearly tradition of cleaning out the pantry. Taking EVERYTHING out, scrubbing the shelves and floor, getting rid of outdated food and putting everything back nicely organized. We actually have skipped this tradition since we started it about 4 years ago and DaddyO re-organized the shelves a few months ago so all we really had to do was get everything off the floor and mop. LOL

7. Christmas Music! Christmas Movies! (please note that these came after Thanksgiving) ;)

8. Decorating the tree!

9. I am almost done Christmas Shopping! Now I can just sit back and enjoy the season. Hahahahahaha!

10. I am giving away a 'Merry Christmas' banner! If you haven't been visiting Shana's Holiday Gift Guide, there is still time to enter a few of the giveaways, including mine. Run to Blaze'n'Chrochet!

I may or may not "borrow" ideas from IheartFaces and post my interpretation of their weekly theme. Without submitting my photo for judgement and withoutt being forced to follow the rules.

Mondays are hard! Blogging on Mondays shouldn't be!

About 9 years ago we bought Lily a special
outfit to wear on Thanksgiving.
There is an infamous story about that day here.
Thanksgiving 2001
Lily - 20 months

All of Lily's pics had to be scanned
which led to not-so-decent quality.
Dang my foolishness for putting her up against such a
dark background! It makes it very difficult to
see just how much hair she had.

This year it was Daisy's turn to wear
the darling outfit for Turkey Day!

Daisy - 28 months

Please excuse me! Daisy had too many 'success stories' while I was
collecting evidence of my girlies wearing the same outfit!

TST - the Most Disgusting Thing Ever!

This is a true story I wish I wasn't telling!

When we moved here, the thing I worried about most was dealing with unfamiliar bugs.

We have lived here for 6 years and I have only ever heard OTHER people's horror stories.

Then the other night, my world came crashing down!

I had been running around downstairs with NO shoes on just seconds before DaddyO yelled my name in a very shocked tone. He had been turning off lights and somehow saw the Most Disgusting Thing Ever, running around on the floor. The MDTE was the exact same color as the tile.

Prepare yourself! And runaway to a safer blog if you need to!
This is what destroyed my sense of safety in our own home:

Black Light does not make for the best lighting, but isn't it just gross that they glow like that?
Now I worry every time I reach in to a drawer or in to the bottom of a closet and with any little tickle, I am positive there is one of these crawling up my leg!

We put the dang thing in a jar so we could show the kids to NEVER mess around if they saw one of these. It has been in the jar, ALIVE, with NO AIR for 2 days. They are very hard to get rid of! YUCK!

What's the worst you've got? Just in case I need to runaway!

The Pumpkin Patch

I hope you guys aren't too sick of Halloween and the festivities surrounding it! I've got some picture sharing to catch up on.
We had a great time at the pumpkin patch!
There were hay rides.

Roasted corn! We also had kettle corn, but my hands were
too busy shoving it in my mouth to take any pictures!
 The Carousel.
Daisy started the ride on her horse
but ended it in her Daddy's arms!
Our first time in a corn maze and I
think our favorite part of the visit!

I didn't even tell them to add the proper drama for these photos!

We made it! Bailey was a little upset because a bee came dangerously close to his eye.

And then there was the petting zoo.
*Lily tolerated it. She didn't love it but she did cautiously pet a few of the animals.
*Daisy was content to watch the animals from her Daddy's tall arms.
*Ashton was traumatized the second we walked in! He DID NOT want to pet the animals and just wanted   to get out of there! And even though he didn't touch a thing, he got himself a handful of germ killer on our way out!
*BAILEY was IN HEAVEN!
He got his hands on every animal in the pen!
The smile never left his face!
After our fun at the Patch, we drove straight to Walmart and picked up our pumpkins! LOL
