Thank You Very Much - 1/28/10

The Daily Dribbles

It's time for my weekly therapy session courtesy of Kmama at the Daily Dribbles.

I don't have too many people to thank today. I really wish I had a cartoon or picture so you could visualize how this all looked!

To the boys for boobie trapping their room with dental floss. I really enjoyed walking in to your room, in the dark, and once my leg caught the first string, dragging every toy you own with me on my way to the face plant on your floor. In my opinion, it is not a good idea to tie one very long piece of  floss around every object in your room. Not only is it a waste of good floss but a embarrassment safety hazard, Thank You Very Much!  It seems you are confused! When every light is off in the house and I have said "Goodnight, go to sleep," that means stay in your bed and GO TO SLEEP.  OK? Thank You!

Oh yeah! Sweet relief/release!

True Story Tuesday - Oh BaileyO

I've got a funny story about Bailey! Let's start with a little background info, alrighty?

Bailey is such a good boy (most of the time)! He is also quite handsome! Check out the dimple.

Bailey can be a big helper! The other day, all of the kiddos were fighting over who got to come to Old Navy with me and who had to go with DaddyO to Marshall's (they all know I am a push-over when it comes to their purchase demands). Bailey hung his head and in a sad voice said, "I'll go with Daddy."

Bailey is a great dancer! You can see video here

Bailey is very smart! He makes super cool "contraptions" in the scrapbook room using the cord to the vacuum.

Bailey can be sneaky! A while back, I  posted about how he took my, still new, camera, and took pictures of his room. I didn't know where the pictures had come from until I got to this picture:

So let's re-cap, Bailey is handsome, a good helper, a fabulous dancer, smart and sneaky.
He used to be the one who would always tell the truth. When DaddyO and I would find some trouble bein' made and we would ask, "WHO DID THIS?!" If he was responsible, Bailey would raise his hand and confess.

And now I have a very troubling quality to add to his list of attributes!

Over the weekend he was getting in trouble for lying about something. I said "Bailey, you HAVE GOT to stop lying. If you lie noone will believe you when you are telling the truth!"

And He Said (with a darling sweet smile on his face):

"I can't help it, Mom! I just LOVE to lie!"

What?!?!

OH man, I'm in trouble!

Now you should go visit Once Upon a Miracle for more true stories!

And the Winner Is!

Thank YOU ALL for helping me decide which picture to use of Miss Daisy. I thought it was interesting that the voting was very mixed. Each picture received some votes but the winner was #4!

In other news..............

Ashton is not the only one who has been receiving awards recently. I have been collecting some too! I have some very fabulous bloggy friends who have been kind enough to pass on some Blog Love!

The first two awards are from Ave at Made In Canarias. She is the coolest girl and I believe she is my only international follower! I ♥ her blog!

The “Splash Award” is given to alluring, amusing, impressive, inspiring blogs.
No rules with this one, just pass on the Love!

I am going to regift this to:

and

The rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each.

First of all, I am a Rule Breaker! And second of all, I've got both babies today and one of the (ahem...not Daisy, tee hee) doesn't like to sleep! Therefore I will follow the rules for as long as the babes are sawin' logs!
7 things that people may not know: (these items have been recycled from previous get-to-know-me posts. These are the only things my sleep deprived/boring self can come up with!)

1.I have a bit of Closet OCD (not OCD denial, the place you hang your clothes). I like all the clothes to be organized in a certain way and almost every one's closets are organized differently. Lily and Daisy's clothes are organized by color. The boys' clothes are arranged by coordinating/matching outfits and my clothes are organized by the length of the sleeves.  I let DaddyO organize his own clothes! My Closet OCD is closely related to my Laundry OCD (certain items get hung up, others are folded in a very specific way)! **edited** DaddyO told me to add Proper Dish Placement in the Dishwasher OCD!

2. I don’t color my hair. It used to be quite a bit lighter but has gotten darker with each baby. Not too bad though for someone with dark eyebrows!

3. I DO NOT like to fly. Part of the reason is because I don’t fly very often. Last flight was Feb. 2008 and before that was in May of 2007. The other reason and really the true cause of my fears is that I love to watch “Seconds From Disaster” and “Air Emergency” on the National Geographic Channel. Why do I torture myself?

4. My Mom and I both have twins. Twins don’t run in the family, infertility does. Gotta love chlomid!

5. My feet are claustrophobic! They do not like socks or shoes and they really hate to be tucked in bed covers! We cover ourselves with only a down-comforter at night, with easy escape routes for my feet! It's really great that it is warm enough here to wear sandals year round!!

6. I am a ScrapLifter. I love to scrapbook, but I am not creative. Proper photo placement is not my "thing." I can however follow a pattern. Anyway, when my family looks at our albums they aren't going to know that I copied the layouts from somebody else!

7. I do not like to eat meat unless it is surrounded by some sort of carb!

and some Very Kreative Bloggers!:
Barclay at Unfailing Love
Sarah at The Merritt's

Thanks Ave!!

The next award is from Kmama at The Daily Dribbles. I absolutely love her blog and if you have never tried her weekly therapy "Thank You Very Much," I don't know what in the world you are waiting for! Thanks Kmama!

The rules are to pass this award on to 7 blogs that I ♥.
I love A LOT of blogs. Here are just a few!

This award is from Kari at p.s. love love.  Kari has two adorable kids, a pug and a pot bellied pig! Check it out! Thanks so much Kari!!!

Letters of Intent - 1/21/10

Letters of Intent

Dear Daisy,

Babe! If you are going to get an ear infection could you please have more symptoms than a little ear drainage and occasional mood swings! I hate to think how many days you were in pain before I was able to realize you may have an ear problem. The night of ABSOLUTELY no sleep was helpful but without a fever, without pulling on your ears and mostly behaving like your usual darling self, makes it hard for me tell that there is anything wrong with you! Help me help you sweet baby!

Love,
Your Guilt Ridden Mother

Speaking of Daisy, I could use a little help. I chased the Little Miss around the park the other day and attempted to get a decent shot of her to add to the header.  None of these match the pics of the other kids but I will add one for the time being. Let me know which one of these you like best.

even though this one shows more of her bum than her face, it
demonstrates what usually happens when I try to take Daisy's picture: her trying to GET AWAY!

Now, get on over to Foursons to read more Lovely Letters!

Awards Season

We had a very exciting night last night.

A few weeks ago we received an invitation:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Oswald,

Congratulations, Ashton has been selected by his school to be the Town of Queen Creek's November Star Student. This monthly award was created to give the town and schools an opportunity to recognize students within the Queen Creek community who display classroom and community citizenship. The town would like to express its congratulations by recognizing Ashton at an upcoming council meeting.

We were so proud that out of all of the kids at his school, Ashton was chosen to receive this recognition.  This is the letter that Ashton's teacher wrote when he was Student of the Month which nominated him for the Town award.

Ashton is a good student who works hard at everything he does. He has such an enthusiasm for learning and that reflects in his assignments. Ashton puts forth 100% effort in all his work, even if it is a difficult task.

He is also a good example of citizenship skills in the classroom. He is always paying attention and has his eyes on me so i know he is listening. Ashton is a good example to his fellow classmates. He encourages them to listen and be kind to one another. I have never heard him speak an unkind word to anybody. Ashton is an amazing person who treats both his peers and teachers with respect. He always has a huge smile on his face, that is contagious to all those around him.

Ashton is such a treasure to have in our classroom and I enjoy being his teacher!

Oh sweet Ashton. We are so proud of you!!

The awards were presented by the Mayor to the
kids from all of the schools in our district.

True Story Tuesday - Kleenex? No Thanks!

So, at our house, we don't usually have kleenex. If anyone needs to blow their nose, we make them use scratchy toilet paper or napkins. We're mean like that!

For Christmas, My Mom gave both DaddyO and me huge packages of kleenex.

She thinks it is cruel and unusual punishment to not have these on hand especially when the kids are sick. She also doesn't think it is attractive to have a red, raw nose/lip. Crazy! I know, right?

Well, since we have all been sick this last week, we have been enjoying the use of the thick, soft kleenex. Our lips are not so chapped and our noses are not on fire! We are VERY grateful for Grandma's thoughtful gift!

Then, the other day, I was reminded why WE DON'T BUY KLEENEX!

Head on over to Once Upon a Miracle for more fabulous true stories!!

Thank You Very Much - 1/14/10

The Daily Dribbles

Aaahhhhh! It's therapy day hosted by Kmama! Yippeee!

Today I would like to thank Miss Daisy for the special treat she left in the bathtub last night. She had a messy diaper JUST before I put her in the tub but the warm bubble bath was just too enticing and she thought it would be funny to have Round 2 of #2 while she was supposed to be getting clean. I had to grab her quickly before she got too contaminated and hose her down in the hazmat area shower! I guess she didn't realize that I had been looking forward to taking a long hot bath after everyone had gone to bed last night! Luckily, DaddyO saved the day and scrubbed the tub for me!  Thank you very much DaddyO!!!!!!!!

I would also like to thank myself for staying up WAY too late last night. I could barely keep my eyes open while I was watching the news, but instead of just going to sleep I thought it would be a good time to load up my new blog makeover. I, of course, ran in to some snags with the installation and wound up staying awake until after midnight. Not a good idea while trying to recover from the flu thank you very much!

Whooh! That felt better than I thought it would! You should give it a try!!

True Story Tuesday - Copy Cat

When I woke up this morning I, very sadly, thought I was not going to be able to post a True Story Tuesday. I didn't know what story to tell and I knew my hands were gonna be full all day!

Then, I had a few minutes when both babes were napping and I stopped by Brandi's blog. After reading her True Story, I WAS INSPIRED! Sometimes I need a little help with blogging material or just something to jog my memory! hee hee  Luckily there are plenty of inspirational bloggers out there to help me!

SO

I just thought I would show you how I take care of disgusting eight-legged creatures that dare to crawl in to my house!

BaileyO Pest Control

He's not afraid and will save the day at your house any time. BaileyO will even provide the football to hold the jar in place and prevent the spider or similar insect from escaping! Letters of Intent - 1/8/10

Letters of Intent

Dear My Sweet Darling Children,

I need to know why you have no problem sleeping while your father is the only one awake. For cryin' outloud, he slams doors, bangs pans, slams cupboards, opens squeeky ironing boards, bangs dishes, turns on lights and tv's and NONE of you lift an eyelid. I mean, he even walks loudly (bless his heart).

But as soon as I silently tiptoe out of bed, in the dark, turning door knobs and opening doors in slow motion to make sure there is no creaking, you ALL WAKE UP! All I want is a peaceful shower without worrying about you getting in to things you are not supposed to or crying in your bed (ahem..Daisy) while I can't hear you!

Please do your poor mother a favor and STAY ASLEEP!

Love always,

Mom
