Holiday Helper

There is only ONE THING I don't like about the holidays! When my kids ask me EVERY 5 seconds "Is it Christmas yet?"  So to solve this problem, we make a Countdown Chain/Advent Loops.

Another postive about this project is I get to use up some of my scrapbook paper scraps!

We use Q-tips to apply the glue and the boys told us the entire time, "Not a lot, just a dot. Just a dab'll do ya!"  They learned that in Kindergarten and it is very helpful in getting them to only use a little bit of glue!

Now instead of asking how many more days until Christmas, they just count how many loops are left! Yay!!

We had to hang them out of Miss Daisy's reach!

Those chains are the best. Cute colors too.

Things like that really do help them understand! The one on the left is especially excited! :)

LOVE it! So many good ideas today. Seriously, I must live under a rock 'cause I've never heard of this either! I'm boring... I have a dry erase calendar on the side of the fridge. :)

I forgot all about the classic chain links for Christmas time. Thanks for bringing back the oldies but goodies!

This is one of our kids' favorite things to make when they were little :o) (Also did this when we were counting down days when their dad would be coming home from a military deployment).

What a beautiful tree :o)

Blessings & Aloha!

(Thank you so much for checking in at my place! I miss getting around to reading your posts! ...can't wait to get back and stay longer! Which I will...)

i LOVE your new look! I also love the colorful chain! I am totally going to use the just a dot, not a lot with our Preschool class, that is great!

PS- I got the felt book at Sam's Club, they also had one with a small video camera that play Disney Princess movie clips, for $13 each!

Too cute! We have a countdown advent calendar and are constantly counting it down...
I love the new blog look. How'd you make it "snow"?

I'm totally stealing this and doing it. Bella keeps asking me how many more minutes it's going to be before Christmas. That's a lot of loops if we did minutes, but man - she'd stop asking :o)
