Our Socks

When I was little, my Mom made me and my siblings Christmas Stockings. I don't know how old I was, but this is the only sock I remember using.

I'm not sure what I was thinking, but in the summer of 1996 I made Lily's sock. I was pretty sure I had jinxed myself and I'm not sure if you can understand my relief and joy when we found out that our first baby was a girl!

I met DaddyO in August 1996, AFTER I made Lily's sock. I had his sock complete for our first Christmas together.

I do not remember stitching the boys stockings! It must have been during all the time spent on bed rest and at the hospital. BOTH of their stockings were ready for their first Christmas!

Daisy's sock was the hardest finish. I started working on her sock before she was born, but I wanted to wait and see what color of hair she was going to have before I stitched the little girl decorating the Christmas tree. I'm still not sure what color of hair the Little Miss is going to have but finishing her stocking was at the top of my Holiday To-Do list! I just finished the stitching last week and my Mom sewed the fabric on the back (same day service! Thanx Mom!)

Almost done stitching!

YAY! It's finally done!

I bought this stand when we only had 5 stockings to hang. Our family of 6 was obviously meant to be!

Don't they look perfect hanging ALL together, neatly in a row?!

Soooo Cute! I'm trying to find a another matching stocking hanger so we can hang Lincoln's stocking and it's impossible! You had some pretty cool "foreshadowings" (not sure if that's a word) of things to come!

Awww, I love that you made Lily's stocking before you even knew when you'd have a baby and that you knew it would be a Lily! Those are just beyond sweet! If I'd have done that, I'd have stockings that say "Jordan, Lillian and Randall-Grace", and I'd have three VERY confused little boys. :0

Oh my gosh- Brandi's comment cracked me up.

I love your stocking hanger- I didn't know something like that existed. And your stockings are so cute- I love that you made them all.

I am SOOOO jealous. I can't even sew a button on. Jdaddy and i made stockings for each other our first Christmas, and they were felt stockings and we glued items to them. Then I made Buddy's and when Buster came around, I went to the dollar store and bought four new ones. LOL

I'm still trying to find the "perfect" stockings.

You're good, girl!!! I was feeling pretty amazing that I had actual socks for them to wear by the time they were born, let alone stitched stockings. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity!
I LOVE the stocking holder. I want one! They DO look perfect. How awesome :o)
