TST - the Most Disgusting Thing Ever!

This is a true story I wish I wasn't telling!

When we moved here, the thing I worried about most was dealing with unfamiliar bugs.

We have lived here for 6 years and I have only ever heard OTHER people's horror stories.

Then the other night, my world came crashing down!

I had been running around downstairs with NO shoes on just seconds before DaddyO yelled my name in a very shocked tone. He had been turning off lights and somehow saw the Most Disgusting Thing Ever, running around on the floor. The MDTE was the exact same color as the tile.

Prepare yourself! And runaway to a safer blog if you need to!
This is what destroyed my sense of safety in our own home:

Black Light does not make for the best lighting, but isn't it just gross that they glow like that?
Now I worry every time I reach in to a drawer or in to the bottom of a closet and with any little tickle, I am positive there is one of these crawling up my leg!

We put the dang thing in a jar so we could show the kids to NEVER mess around if they saw one of these. It has been in the jar, ALIVE, with NO AIR for 2 days. They are very hard to get rid of! YUCK!

What's the worst you've got? Just in case I need to runaway!

OH MY GOSH - I would totally freak out!

That just blows me away - and YES - it is weird that they glow!

And girlie - the worst we've got here are some fuzzy spiders. No poisonous stuff.

(Well, if you can handle an occasional earthquake!)

Thanks for linking up... I had no clue your "bug" story was this extreme! YIKES!

Oh heck no! I would be so freaked out!

One time in GA my brother was sent to his room for time out. He was crying of course, then the cry changed to the fear cry and my mom goes in and he is sitting on his bed making his hands down the pincher movement.

There was a large scorpion on his floor! eww! I never slept on the floor again!

But we also never saw another one. Hope you are that lucky!

Y.I.K.E.S.!!! Those SO creep me out! We had them in TX, small ones, but they still freaked me out!

We have palmetto bugs? At least that's what DB calls them. GIANT cockroach. We occasionally get one inside, especially after it has rained a bunch. HATE. THEM.

OK, a lesson from the Texan. When you kill them you must step on them and then move your foot all around and grind them into the ground. Otherwise they won't die. Make sure your foot is covered w/a shoe though. :) And if you ever get stung by one be prepared for several days worth of pain. They are B.A.D. So in order to try to avoid that, shake your shoes out before putting them on your feet. Especially if your shoes sat outside all night.

Oh no. We get them here too and I do not like them one bit. My uncle got stung by one and said it felt like a mack truck hit him. Please be careful and kill that crazy thing!!

Okay I officially have the heebie jeebies! YIKES!

I have a meltdown if I see a moth. I mean a MELTDOWN! Crying like a baby needing a paperbag to breathe kinda of thing. It is a little pathetic I know but those things always fly right at your face. Now I really need a Xanax! ;-)

Okay first those pictures are beyond amazing! But ewwww! I would so be freaking out. Did I ever tell you about the time Eric found one in his underwear? I am pretty sure I blogged about it once.

Okay, you got me on that one. The spiders we get are nothing compared to that nasty thing!

Whatcha got there a Scorpion? Are you in Arizona? The most ugly thing I ever saw was a Vinagaroon...cross between what you have and a spider! Wear flip flops and be careful, while not poisonous unless allergic to one, the sting lasts for hours!

WOW! That would really freak me out too. I hope that was your first and last experience with finding one.

So glad no one got bit. God was watching out for your family. I would have a hard time going to sleep after seeing something like that. Hopefully he didn't have any relatives living close by.
