Awards Season

We had a very exciting night last night.

A few weeks ago we received an invitation:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Oswald,

Congratulations, Ashton has been selected by his school to be the Town of Queen Creek's November Star Student. This monthly award was created to give the town and schools an opportunity to recognize students within the Queen Creek community who display classroom and community citizenship. The town would like to express its congratulations by recognizing Ashton at an upcoming council meeting.

We were so proud that out of all of the kids at his school, Ashton was chosen to receive this recognition.  This is the letter that Ashton's teacher wrote when he was Student of the Month which nominated him for the Town award.

Ashton is a good student who works hard at everything he does. He has such an enthusiasm for learning and that reflects in his assignments. Ashton puts forth 100% effort in all his work, even if it is a difficult task.

He is also a good example of citizenship skills in the classroom. He is always paying attention and has his eyes on me so i know he is listening. Ashton is a good example to his fellow classmates. He encourages them to listen and be kind to one another. I have never heard him speak an unkind word to anybody. Ashton is an amazing person who treats both his peers and teachers with respect. He always has a huge smile on his face, that is contagious to all those around him.

Ashton is such a treasure to have in our classroom and I enjoy being his teacher!

Oh sweet Ashton. We are so proud of you!!

The awards were presented by the Mayor to the
kids from all of the schools in our district.
