Letters of Intent - 1/8/10

Letters of Intent

Dear My Sweet Darling Children,

I need to know why you have no problem sleeping while your father is the only one awake. For cryin' outloud, he slams doors, bangs pans, slams cupboards, opens squeeky ironing boards, bangs dishes, turns on lights and tv's and NONE of you lift an eyelid. I mean, he even walks loudly (bless his heart).

But as soon as I silently tiptoe out of bed, in the dark, turning door knobs and opening doors in slow motion to make sure there is no creaking, you ALL WAKE UP! All I want is a peaceful shower without worrying about you getting in to things you are not supposed to or crying in your bed (ahem..Daisy) while I can't hear you!

Please do your poor mother a favor and STAY ASLEEP!

Love always,

Mom

Oh gosh, isn't that always the way? My kids are never hungry on the weekends when dad gets up, but as soon as I'm up they are asking for breakfast, drink, this, that.... So frustrating! Hopefully you'll get to have a nice relaxing shower this weekend.

Thanks for linking up!

That is so true. 5 minutes after I get up they all start stirring.

I think they have mom radar. Seriously, the same thing happens to me ALL the time.

Kids have that insane MOM radar that goes off whenever she is enjoying a few peaceful moments, right?

And YES - mine is the lightest sleeper when I'm up early with things to do. And the soundest sleeper when daddy is mucking around the house in his hunting boots grabbing his gear. Figures!

(Love how every other mom totally knows what you're talking about! :)

Very cute post. So true, so true. I definitely know what you mean about taking a shower without worrying about your kids. My husband would just take his and not worry about the kids. He'd tell me to do the same, but I couldn't. I waited until he had time to watch them so I knew they were okay. Now they're older so this isn't an issue but your post brings back memories.

I need to read this to my little ones too! I can't ever shower in the day until my hubby is home. I swear it must just be a mother thing. LOL

Oh lady, I'm so with you. Or on the weekend when hubby is home and I have help and he could finally play with the kids while I do something - they both decide they want to nap for 3.5 hours and hubby gets to do whatever he wants anyway. Ugh. I want him to have to play all day everyday sometime in his life.
