That is HUGE! AHHH! I live in the south so we supposedly get them, but can't say I have ever seen one... probably because I am an indoor kinda girl! If that came near me I think I might pee my pants!
We did, however, discover why our irises died so early this year. They were infested with iris borers. If you want to be grossed out, do a google image search.
I had never heard of a cicada until we moved to Knoxville, TN. The year we moved there was the year of the big 17 year cicada. It was soooo loud. They stay in the trees for the most part and don't bug you. I swear from time to time I can hear the cicada buzz here in CA. I'm not sure though.

We actually have two kinds here - the annual and the 7-year. It's interesting the differences between the two!
Those are some big puppies, though! Kinda cute, in a weird buggy kinda way . . . LOL!
No, and I am currently praising God that we don't.
We do get those. I have a couple pictures buried somewhere in my thousands of photos on my computer. How awesome. Love the eyes!
No, I don't think so. I am pretty sure I would know if I had seen one after seeing these pics!
Yep, get those! I haven't seen any this year. How did Daisy react?
No, thank goodness! Those things creep me out.
They have beady red eyes. *Shudders*
