The Staycation

As you know, we took a little trip last week. We drove about 45 minutes away to a beautiful resort.

We ate at fun restaurants where Daisy entertained every one with her Linda Blair impression: No pictures!

We got a special pass to enjoy a lounge at the hotel that served breakfast, snacks and drinks where my rowdy bunch probably should not have been invited: No pictures!

We stayed in a beautiful room that was big enough for a queen sized air mattress to accommodate our many children. The room also had a huge walk-in closet where we were able to set up Daisy's bed so she could sleep in peace while the rest of us watched tv. I meant to get pictures of the room but all I ended up with was shots of the kids in this cool orange chair:

The one place I DID NOT forget my camera is where we spent most of our time and where we had the most fun! The Pools and Waterslide. I even took my camera to the top of the waterslide in an attempt to get some different shots of the kids.

Usually, Daisy does not enjoy the pool but even she had fun cooling off in the water.

Does that look like a baby who's been sick?

Shots from the bottom of the slide.

Daisy waving to the kids as they exited the waterslide.

Two of my favorite shots: Bailey's obvious joy and just Ashton's feet as he flew out of the slide.

We had SO much fun and can't wait to try a new place next year!

Have a great weekend every one!

Thank You Very Much - 7/29/10

Courtesy of Kmama

I missed my session last week so I am in desperate need of therapy this week!

To my body, Thank You Very Much for operating better on 3 hours of sleep than you do on 6 hours of sleep. What's up with that? Are you trying to tell me that I should get less sleep than I already do?

To the bug that made Miss Daisy sick all last week, Thank You Very Much for sticking around for our Staycation. YOU owe an apology to 3 families (including ours) who were trying to enjoy dinner and were forced to wittness Daisy throw-up all over herself. OH, and it was very thoughtful of you to see to it that Daisy did not act sick before OR after she threw up. It makes it a little hard for us to tell what is going on when she is singing and dancing 5 minutes after losing her lunch, Thank You Very Much!

To our stupid air conditioner (1 of 2) that decided to break down last weekend, Thank You Very Much! ON.THE.DAY that I had scheduled tag-team babysitters so DaddyO and I could do some school and birthday shopping AND see a movie! I can't very well force the Grandparents to watch my kiddos in sweltering conditions, thank you very much! Get with the program, and just do your job!

To Daisy, Thank You Very Much for making it look like I just let you run wild through the house without keeping a single eye on you!
Yep, Miss Daisy with a glass potting dish, a huge fork AND the entire container of ice cream!

Ten Things To Smile About - July

I CAN NOT believe that another month has gone by! We had a great July and here are some of the highlights!

1. Watching fireworks through our bedroom window.

2. Putting Daisy down for her nap and saying to her "It's time to go Ni-night."
And then Miss Sassy Pants pointed her finger at me and said, "NO, Mom!"

3. Ashton lost his first tooth!

4. Ashton telling us at dinner that he is not a big fan of the chicken in the lasagna that was made with ground beef.

5. Ashton losing his 2nd tooth with the help of his big sister because their parents are too chicken!

6. Bailey using an eyeglass case as a wallet to hold his money from the tooth fairy. He lost his 4th tooth this month! Lily added his name with cute pink stickers.

7. Lily wanting to set the record for Most Consecutive Nights of Sleepovers with her BFF. They conned 4 parents in to letting them have sleepovers 3 nights in a row.

8. The boys getting so good at swimming after 4 weeks of swim lessons. I bought water wings at the beginning of summer and never even opened the package!

9. Staycation!

10. I may have 1/2 of a smile because my kids went back to school today. Just thinking about nap times where rambunctious kiddos wake up sleeping babies. The house is very silent today!!

Monday Mugs - Purple

Are you in need of a mindless Monday Blog post? Are you struggling to deal with the weekend being over and can't muster the strength to type a single word? Well, Monday Mugs is for YOU! I may or may not "borrow" ideas from IheartFaces and post my interpretation of their weekly theme. Without submitting my photo for judgement and not being forced to follow the rules.
Mondays are hard! Blogging on Mondays shouldn't be!

Today's theme for Monday Mugs is: Purple
I don't know why, but we don't have much purple.
Here is what I was able to come up with.

Lily with a couple purple stripes in her sweater.
Green must not be a big color for me either cuz this is
what she had to wear for St. Patty's Day green.

Ashton with a purple bruise on his forehead. I actually have quite a few pictures of Ashton with bruises on his head. When he falls or runs in to something it is usually head first!

Bailey wearing a purple hat on one of our cold winter days in AZ.

Daisy actually has a few pictures where she is wearing purple.

Right now, she has 1 purple shirt
hanging in her closet and this is it!

2004 - We are living in AZ but spend Thanksgiving back in Salt Lake and even though I forgot to bring a coat for Lily, she enjoys some fun in the snow!

Cute boys watching from the window.

2006 - 2 hours away, we find less than an inch of snow on the ground. The kids are dying to play in it. They get out of the car and try to make a snowman and throw a couple of snowballs at each other. I take pictures from inside the car!
We do not own proper outdoor snow attire and soon, every one is running back to the car!
I got a chill just from looking at those pictures!

TYVM - 7/15/10

Courtesy of Kmama!

To my sweet little, hi-speed Miss Daisy, Thank You Very Much for unrolling the ENTIRE roll of toilet paper. There I go again, trying to wash my hands after changing your diaper! Babe, I don't enjoy getting my TP from a massive pile on the floor! Stop it!!

To the the crop duster that began dive bombing the field behind our house before 6am. Thank You Very Much for scaring me awake an entire hour before I needed to wake up! And I especially loved peeking out the window only to see you dive out of sight and then pull-up just in time to miss the school and fly your screaming engine right over my house. That is one crazy job you've got!

To the heat AND humidity, Thank You Very Much. You're gross! For the love, BRING US SOME STORMS!!

Alrighty then! Go get your free therapy from Kmama.

Fire!

We like to sing in the car.
The kids beg me to play their current favorite song and everyone sings it at the top of their lungs!
Past faves have been Johnny Cash's "Jackson" and "Babe", sung by Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.
It's fun!
Lately, every one has been begging to hear "Fire", sung by the cast of Glee.
Even Daisy has been joining in on the fun.
We think it's really funny!
It's even more hilarious when there is dancing involved!

Monday Mugs - Blue

Are you in need of a mindless Monday Blog post? Are you struggling to deal with the weekend being over and can't muster the strength to type a single word? Well, Monday Mugs is for YOU! I may or may not "borrow" ideas from IheartFaces and post my interpretation of their weekly theme. Without submitting my photo for judgement and not being forced to follow the rules.

Mondays are hard! Blogging on Mondays shouldn't be!

Today's theme for Monday Mugs is: Blue
My BLUE is mixed with a bit of Red and White!

One of my favorite 4th of July traditions, is to make my kids wear festive clothes and force them to let me take their pictures.
They LOVE it, as seen in the following picture:

I did manage to get a few smiles out of them.

Lily even wore the outfit and combed her hair the way I demanded asked her to!

Miss Smiley Pants was in rare form! I never thought she'd keep the little headband on! And I usually can't get her to sit still for 5 seconds so I can get one shot. Today, she sat down on the little stool and was content to sit and smile while I shot about 20 pictures of her. She got very mad when I asked her to get up so someone else could get their pictures taken!

I even got a shot of all 4 of them together and they're all looking in the generel direction of the camera!
