TYVM - Back to School Edition

Courtesy of Kmama at The Daily Dribbles

To the rookies in the parent pick-up line at school, Thank You Very Much. I KNOW there was a flyer given to every parent at meet the teacher night that explained exactly how to pick up your kids. Did you read that? I didn't think so! Let me just fill you in on the most important detail: DO NOT park your car in the middle of the parent pick-up lanes and then GET OUT and go in to the school. You should know that when I see this happen, I will inform the front desk staff immediately and giggle when they announce your license plate # and car description over the loud speaker. Then I will roll down my car windows and laugh as loud as I can as I, and all the other rule followers, watch your 'walk of shame' back to your car!

To spelling word sentences, Thank You Very Much. I did not miss you over the summer! Man, I did not enjoy you when I was in school. And because I decided to put the boys in the same class this year, I now have to help come up with 2 completely different sentences for each spelling word!

To Ashton and Bailey, Thank You Very Much, for thinking it is ok to stay up until 10pm, playing in the dark ON.A.SCHOOL.NIGHT!! It can't be easy for you to make it through a full day of school if you're tired and I do not want to deal with your cranky pants the next day. Starting the night in separate rooms is going to become the new norm if you don't get your butts to sleep!

To the soccer ball, Thank You Very Much for smashing in to Lily's face, sending her glasses flying and leaving her with a purple bruise on her eyelid THE DAY BEFORE SCHOOL PICTURES!

We aren't allowed to use the car pick up lane yet. They want to spend the first three days getting to know what the parents look like, this is just for the kindergartners though.

I think Ashton and Bailey and buster have been communicating. That kid DOES NOT go to sleep until at least an hour, if not an hour and a half after I put him to bed.

I'm so glad I don't have to the pick-up thing. I would be the lost, stupid parent. LOL

Thanks for linking up!

Bless your heart I bet that is aggravating to deal with in the pick up lane. I hate it about the bruise right before pictures too.

Oh no, poor Lily!!!

I'm laughing about the boys because Jakob and Nolan share a room and on school nights they have to go to bed at different times so they don't keep each other up.

Um, have you seen Mr. Mom???

"You're doing it wrong!!!" Haha!

Hope Lily's eye gets better okay.

If the late nights continue, go in with a belt and threaten them. My dad did that several times and we listened. He never used the belt, but the thought of it freaked us out enough to listen to him :o)

I can't believe how many parents think "oh, it will just take a second to pop into the school so I'll just run in" when they are in the pick up lanes. The year my step-daughter lived with us I had the pleasure (NOT) of dealing with those parents too!

I am cracking up about the pick up line. We have a "circle of hell" in front of our school, and I try to stay far away! People are constantly honking and flipping people off! Seriously!

LMBO! Of course, I don't know what the pickup lane is like for school, but we have the same issue at church... trying to get into the parking lot for the 10:30 service while the 9 o'clockers are trying to exit. It's hilarious when you find yourself nearly flipping someone off in the church parking lot. :P

Oh no about the soccer ball. Hope she is ok.
I hate our pick up line too. You get there on time to get your kids but by the time you actually pick them up you are 10 minutes late. It is not my fault :)

Carpool lines are usually so simple...it drives me CRAZY when people don't seem to understand!

Finally, I hope Lily's bruise was not too bad.
